Dixie RelicsThe Smith & Wesson Model 1 ½ was Smith & Wesson's second .32 caliber revolver, intended to combine the small size and convenience of the .22 caliber Model 1 with the larger caliber of the 6-shot "belt sized" Model 2. Chambered in .32 rimfire, its cylinder held five shots. It was produced in three varieties from 1865 through 1892, with total production exceeding 223,000.
This example is the “Second Issue” with serial number 79,785 making its production date toward the middle part of the 1868 to 1875 production run.
The revolver has a 3.5” barrel with clear Smith & Wesson address and all three patent dates stamped on left side. Thin blade sight on top at muzzle and case ejector mounted under the barrel. Bore has with good rifling.
All gun metal has matching gray tone with traces of original blue. Light wear overall. Mechanical action remains strong and crisp. There is no wobble at the hinge. The “birds head” grips of hard embossed rubber are in good condition. Email or call for purchase.
