Civil War Era Engineer Brass Hat Insignia.. Overall great condition. 1 3/4"wide The Corps of Engineers wore a castle in a wreath on the front of either the Jeff Davis (Hardee) hat or forage cap (kepi). This is the original brass insignia for the kepi hat. It is missing one attachment loop.
