Dixie RelicsDixie RelicsOriginal Civil War Era New York Irish Brigade Cockade. Worn by NY Irish Brigade Soldiers and Veterans cockades were typically pinned to the lapel, sashes or at the hatband. Many color variations existed, but Irish cockades were green, white and burgundy and often included a center emblem. I have a photo of the Irish Brigade Sash which this and one other came off. The sash had all of the Irish Brigade unit insignia.
