The 25th Army Corps, Department of Virginia, and Department of Texas, was created by General Orders No. 297, Adjutant General’s Office, to consist of the colored troops of the 10th and 18th Army Corps, Dec 3, 1864, until June 1865, and Department of Texas until January 8, 1866. It was discontinued by General Orders No. 2, Adjutant General’s Office, January 8, 1866.
