Original Japanese WWII Good Luck Flag 37 Well Wishers Jap Soldier ID

The Good Luck Flag, known as hinomaru yosegaki in the Japanese language, was a traditional gift for Japanese servicemen deployed during the military campaigns of the Empire of Japan, though most notably during World War II. The flag given to a soldier was a national flag signed by friends and family, often with short messages wishing the soldier victory, safety, and good luck.

The Japanese call their country's flag hinomaru, which translates literally to "sun-round", referencing the red circle on a white field. When the hinomaru was signed, the Japanese characters were usually written vertically, and radiated outward from the edge of the red circle. This practice is referenced in the second term, yosegaki, meaning "sideways-writing".

This particular example completely unique is written in old KANJI the writing are mainly Japanese names of this soldier’s family and friends with quotes and phrases. This flag has had everything interpreted and listed on a picture for your record. The Japanese soldier Mr. Shigekazu Sakai had 37 well wishers sign. There are two shrines labeled and words for prayers for eternal good and fortunes of war. Most of these you never know what they say. This one has been professionally documented.

If payment is not received within 7 days the item will be placed back for sale. Please call between 9:30 AM and 7:00 PM Eastern Time. A minimum charge of $8.00 will be added to cover shipping. Items can be shipped FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. Georgia residents must include 7% sales tax. All items are 100% GUARANTEED. If for any reason you are unhappy with the relic just return it UNALTERED within 5 days for a refund minus shipping charges and restocking fee of 6%. Layaways can be arranged on items over $100. Layaway terms are; 1/3 down and 1/3 in 30 days with balance due in full in 60 days. Due to time factors there are no refunds or price discounts on layaways. Only 1 item may be in lay-a-way at a time unless approved by Dixie Relics. We reserve the right to refuse service to rude people. We are always buying and trading so feel free to make an offer.
