This is the model 1863 and is so marked on the top of the barrel "NEW MODEL 1863". It also has the Sharps Rifle Company maker mark and Hartford, Connecticut production location. The lockplate has the clear Sharps patent mark and dates. As you can see all of the Sharps markings and patent dates are still present throughout the gun. The action catches on both of the two positions. It has the serial number of "88887" on the tang of the frame . This number is well within the Civil War production ranges. The barrel is full-length and has the original front sight intact. The bore of the gun has good lands and grooves still visible. The stock is walnut and has darken with age. This stamps as well as the small sub inspector letters and initials on other parts of the gun let us know that the gun is a military model rather than being a civilian purchased one. The stock has the untouched light tone with service nicks wear and dings you expect from a gun that was actually used. This is a great used Civil War military model Sharps cavalry carbine.

If for any reason you are unhappy with the relic just return it UNALTERED within 5 days for a refund minus shipping charges and restocking fee of 6%. Layaways can be arranged on items over $100. Layaway terms are; 1/3 down and 1/3 in 30 days with balance due in full in 60 days. Due to time factors there are no refunds or price discounts on layaways.
